WHD - my one hour teleseminar

    Saturday, January 5, 2008, 09:13 PM [General]

Each year I think about doing something for WHD and then, well, the thought seems to dissipate. After listeneng to Tom Nicoli last week I felt embarassed that as an NGH Instructor I didn't plan anything for WHD.

Luckily I've learned (thank you Cal Banyan) that it's a good idea to listen to my feelings and do something different. (In the past I probably would have distracted myself from the feeling and had ice cream).

After listeneng to Tom, I decided to hold a Free Teleseminar on WHD. I emailed everyone in my contact list - everyone who has ever emailed me with an interest in hypnosis or my Hypnosis Weight Loss Meetings. And lo and behold it worked!

I was thrilled that 5 people called exactly on time and participated in my one hour presentation....and here is the best part: every one stayed till the end!

I sent out a feedback form and a Gift Certificate to each of the participants later that evening.(Thank you, Craig Eubanks for your ideas).

Next year I'll be planning my WHD event a lot earlier LOL!

    Question about Age Regression Podcast

    Tuesday, January 1, 2008, 12:11 PM [General]

I just listened to Cal and Celeste's recent podcast on age regression while I was walking my grey, Roxie. At one point I hear an acronym - it was related to ISE and SSE but it was called IPE (or maybe PSE?).
(I haven't figured out how to "rewind" a podcast to hear it again - my apologies). Would someone be willing to explain what those three initials stand for?

Wishing everyone a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year, hugs, Wendy Goldenthal in Devon, PA.

    Trade Show?Expo ideas needed

    Monday, October 1, 2007, 06:24 PM [General]

    Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for ideas for a table top display. I'm sharing a 6 x 6 ' space with a candle vendor at the Mind Body Spirit Expo in King of Prussia, PA. I will have a 5 foot long x 1 1/2 foot wide table to display anything on.

Some of the displays at the expo have been professionally made. Some are just tables with tablecloths. Mostly I'll be advertising Hypnosis Training and Hypnosis for Weight Loss.

I've seen some velcro table top displays on ebay. Not sure what to do with them though... If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

    Thanks in advance, Wendy

Looking for a Vendor at the NGH Convention

    Tuesday, July 31, 2007, 06:53 PM [General]

    Hi Everyone,

I have a unique CD that I'd love to sell at the NGH Convention and I'm looking for a vendor that is willing to sell for a commission.

I own 2 antique posters (1898) advertising hypnosis services of Prof. L.A. Harraden of Jackson, Mich. He is the author of the famous "Complete Mail Course of Hypnotism" from this era.  The posters have been professionally scanned and are now preserved forever on CD's.

The graphics on these victorian ads are beautifully inked and the corresponding text illustrates over 100 selective points from his lessons after which "...you can decide for yourself and I think I can tell what the decision will be. You will at once send in your order for my Lessons on Hypnotism."

    He also writes:

    1. I prove to you at the very start that Hypnotism is an easy as well as delightful study.

    2. I explain fully the celebrated Fascination method

    3. I give you my famous method which I employ when only one person is to be influenced.

    4.  I show you that  weakness of will does not necessarily pertain to a hypnotic subject

    5. I tell you how you can hypnotize persons by sending them a hypnotized card through the mail

    6. I show you how to easily make $10 a day

Full size posters can be printed from your CD and framed or you can use clips of the art for your website, office walls, stationery and cards.

One of the 100 year old images is of a woman in full victorian garb who is actively hypnotising another woman!

If you happen to be a vendor or happen to know of one that I can contact, please let me know. My email address is: wgoldenthal@gmail.com  phone 610-687-0333

    Weight Loss Plateau.....

    Friday, July 20, 2007, 06:14 PM [General]

    Hi Everyone,

As I've been successfully losing weight since January I knew in my heart that of course I would never hit a weight loss plateau. Especially since I was sure I knew how to do everything correctly. Doing self-hypnosis, EFT, eating 1400 calories per day and exercising 4 - 6 days a week, I was totally confident that doing the right thing would avoid a plateau.

    I have been humbled.

Since May 22, I have lost only 4 pounds. This is a whopping 1/2 pound per week. Is this a plateau? Perhaps. One thing I do know is that my level of frustration kept increasing....

I noticed that as weight loss slowed, I became more and more worried and negative. Getting on the scale every morning might not have been the best way to start my day, but I continued to check my weight and continued to feel frustrated. I'm 14 pounds from my goal weight and at this rate I'd make it by early 2008....

The other evening a friend responded to my groans about my "plateau"..... He informed me that this is absolute proof that obviously I've reached the weight where my body is comfortable and that nothing I could do would make a difference. I don't think so!

One of the first things I did was check my daily calories. I do keep track so that I make sure that I eat my full 1400 cals. per day. When I looked at my food intake I found that I had underestimated the calories in a small tuna hoagie.... by about 300 calories.....

Hmmmm....this is definitely enough to slow down my weight loss.....but I had a feeling it wasn't the only thing that was going on...

So I sat myself down and had a talk. My self talk had been slowly becoming more and more negative and I knew that I had to shift my thinking to gain the results I desire.

Every evening, prior to falling asleep, I had always created a positive visualization of my "future" me. Looking great and slim. Feeling happy and fulfilled. A great way to fall asleep and one I suggest to my hypnosis clients. And here I was, 6 months into my weight loss and I realized that I had stopped my positive visualization! Yikes!

I spoke with my trainer who reminded me that of course, this is totally normal, and that she expected it. She informed me that it's time to step up my exercise program. Adding 10 minutes each time I'm on my exercise bike was her prescription for improvement. Am I going to have to bike for 2 hours a day when I'm 60 years old I asked her? Increasing my exercise at this rate, I'm gonna have to quit my job to exercise all day>

So here I am. I've added more exercise. And I'm varying it. I am playing tennis once a week. I'm lifting weights while I'm watching The Food Network. And the other day I decided to "power walk". Looked like a damn duck waddling down the street.

Most important, I've shifted my self-talk. Back to my positive self, and allowing my body to do what it needs to do on it's journey to a slimmer me. And I'm visualizing every night. And when I woke up this morning the first thought I had was "I love my body!" I totally surprised myself.

I added all of this to my blog at ThinkSlimGetTrim. Even though I have a blog, I'm not sure what the purpose is!

I'm back on track. Thank goodness
